On March 12, Professor Wang Qilong, Secretary-General of the Vacuum Society of Jiangsu Province, gave a grand reception to a delegation led by Researcher Zuo Guizhong, Deputy Secretary-General of the Vacuum Society of Anhui Province (Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences), Senior Engineer Huang Ming (Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences) and Researcher Meng Xiancai (Institute of Energy, Hefei Comprehensive National Science Center) at the School of Electronic Science and Engineering, Southeast University. A lively thematic exchange forum was subsequently held.The forum was attended by a host of experts, including Dr. Li Yongming from Kunshan Guoli, General Manager Li Xin from Kunshan Bapima, Dr. Ren Ling, Director of the Science and Technology Development Department at North Night Vision (Nanjing), as well as Professors Xiao Mei, Wu Ze, Zhang Xuhai, Bai Ningfeng, Fan Hehong from Southeast University and Professor Di Yunsong from Nanjing Normal University.

Anhui and Jiangsu Join Hands to Discuss Fusion Energy
Researcher Zuo Guizhong delivered a comprehensive presentation titled Introduction to the Institute of Plasma Physics and the BEST Project. He elaborated on the latest developments of controllable fusion research worldwide, gave an in-depth account of core technology R&D, research achievements and engineering experience of the EAST and BEST devices, and conducted an incisive analysis of relevant opportunities and challenges.During the forum, experts from the fraternal vacuum societies of Anhui and Jiangsu engaged in thorough exchanges on topics including fusion technology innovation, industrial development, industry-university-research collaboration and talent cultivation. They reached consensus and planned in-depth cooperation between the two fraternal societies in tackling key fusion technology challenges.

After the forum, Jiang Xuehua, Party Secretary of the School of Electronic Science and Engineering, Southeast University, and Professor Wu Jun, Vice Dean in charge of scientific research, held a cordial meeting with Researcher Zuo Guizhong and his delegation. Secretary Jiang extended a warm welcome to the expert group from the Vacuum Society of Anhui Province and Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences. She also spoke highly of the great significance of this joint exchange between the Anhui and Jiangsu societies.Going forward, the Vacuum Society of Jiangsu Province will further deepen its collaboration with the Vacuum Society of Anhui Province. Taking the two societies as a bridge and link, we will gather high-quality industrial resources from both provinces, boost cross-regional collaborative innovation integrating industry, university and research, and jointly facilitate high-quality development of the vacuum science and technology industry in the Yangtze River Delta.
