Department Overview
The Department of Electronic Science and Technology is a National Key Discipline at the first-level discipline level; it is also a key discipline supported by both the "211 Project" and the "985 Project," as well as part of the "Double First-Class" initiative, and serves as a leading discipline in Jiangsu Province. In the 2012 national discipline assessment conducted by the Center for Degree and Graduate Education Development under the Ministry of Education, the department ranked second nationwide, and received an "A" rating in the 2016 discipline assessment. Under the first-level discipline of Electronic Science and Technology, there are three second-level disciplines: "Physical Electronics," "Circuits and Systems," and "Microelectronics and Solid-State Electronics"; the department also hosts a doctoral program at the first-level discipline level, a postdoctoral research station, doctoral programs within the three second-level disciplines, and five master's degree programs. The department houses several key disciplinary platforms at or above the provincial/ministerial level, including the National-Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Optical Sensing/Communication Integrated Networks, the National Technology Innovation Center for New Display Technologies (Visual Health and Perception Innovation Platform), the International Cooperation Joint Laboratory for Information Display and Visualization under the Ministry of Education, and the Jiangsu Provincial Engineering Research Center for Optical Communication Devices and Technologies. The department comprises 69 full-time faculty members, 34 doctoral supervisors, and 65 master's supervisors; a number of scholars hold prominent positions within international and national academic organizations, expert panels, and review committees.
Program Educational Objectives (approximately 150 words; the following content is for reference only):
To master the basic tenets of Marxism, adhere to the Four Cardinal Principles, love one's motherland, abide by laws and regulations, maintain upright conduct, and possess the spirit of serving the people and dedicating oneself to the cause of socialist construction.
In the field of Electronic Science and Technology, candidates possess a solid and broad theoretical foundation as well as systematic and profound specialized knowledge; they are capable of conducting independent scientific research and solving related technical problems; and they are qualified to undertake work within the field of Electronic Science and Technology.
Must be proficient in at least one foreign language.

Thesis proposal
This shall be implemented in accordance with the "Principles and Requirements for Thesis Topic Selection and Proposal Preparation for Graduate Students at Southeast University."
Mid-term Assessment
This shall be implemented in accordance with the "Interim Assessment and Screening Measures for Master's Degree Candidates at Southeast University".

Within the scope of the thesis topic and research direction, you must read at least 50 academic articles, including 30 foreign-language articles, and complete one literature review.
Paper Writing
In addition to complying with institutional requirements, a dissertation must be a systematic and comprehensive academic work characterized by clear concepts, sound arguments, rigorous reasoning, accurate calculations, reliable data, well-structured organization, concise and fluent writing, and clearly presented figures.
On Academic Quality
The thesis shall be based on investigative research, selecting a topic with certain academic value and significant implications for the development of the national economy. Research work conducted in connection with the thesis shall last for no less than one year. Prior to applying for a master's degree in this discipline, the candidate must have authored at least one academic paper.
